History

The Warriors Cup started as a Smoker Event in 2007. At Smoker, we had 10 bouts with local gyms participating in this event, which was sanctioned by USKBA. With an emphasis on careful matchmaking and taking care of every fighter on the show, this quickly led to a fully sanctioned show with growing attendance. From that point on, we put on 10 shows (Warriors Cup) at The Weapons 9 Gym In New Brunswick NJ. The space held a maximum of 400 or so spectators and has always brought in a full house for every show. We have had strong support from all the local gyms and every event showcased excellent fighters from gyms such as The Wat, Academy Five Points NYC, Varlaro’s Muaythai, Tiger Schulmann MMA, Extreme Muaythai, Boradin’s gym, North Jersey Muaythai, Sityodtong, and many more great gyms.

In June 2010 we merged with Strategic Combat Academy to form an alliance that would strengthen our ability to grow the show into something bigger. We held our 11th show at The Rahway Recreation Center in Rahway NJ. This event was planned without any advertising and marketing but based purely on support of all the gyms and the Muaythai community. We were packed yet again. We had 25 amateur bouts and 4 titles up for grab. The show was a huge success!!

In the year 2011, we have added Dead Serious Fight Gear to our team and on July 23rd will make history as the first event in New Jersey that the NJSACB has approved with PROFESSIONAL FULL MUAYTHAI RULES. We will also have the distinction of the first event that the WORLD BOXING COUNCIL will ever sanction here in NJ. We plan to use these opportunities to bring up the level of Muaythai here for all the fighters. The approval of FULL RULES MUAYTHAI and the the new partnership will allow us to bring in the best fighters in the world to go against local talent. Our absolute goal is to continue to help US Muaythai become a force on the international fight scene.
